Pneumonectomies are completed to resolve non-small cell lung cancer when the disease has extended beyond a single lobe. This can happen if the growth is big, or has just crossed from one lobe into another. In that case, a lobectomy (surgical removal of a lobe) cannot take away the entire portion of cancer tissue. The complete organ must be taken out.

Colon cancer which is also known as bowel cancer or colorectal cancer. Colon cancer is a cancer that develops in the colon or rectum. Colon cancer may affect any ethnic group.
