Signs and Symptons of Asthma
Wheezing sound that occurs when air flows through obstructed airways ie when you breathe. Initially, wheezing or whistling sound usually occurs only while exhaling or breathing out, but as the attack progresses, wheezing may then be heard both while inhaling and exhaling. If the attack progresses further, the wheezing sound may disappear. This indicates that condition is serious as many small airways(bronchioles) are completely blocked.
Shortness of breath, When you feel that you can’t breathe in or out.
Tightness in the chest
Cough without any obvious cause, lasting for more than a week.
Asthma symptoms may vary from one attack to another. It is not necessary that all asthmatic symptoms should be present in an asthma attack. Some asthmatics, coughing is the only symptom present. It is not necessary that all asthmatics wheeze. Kids with chronic coughs may have asthma even though no wheezing is present.
