Preparing your body for Pregnancy

Preparing your body for pregnancy before you try to conceive-both nutritionally and physically-can be very important in increasing your chances of having a healthier pregnancy and conceiving more easily.

When you and your partner decide to conceive, you should make an appointment with your OB for a preconception checkup. Your doctor will be able to help you make informed decisions regarding your reproductive health, prenatal supplements and any health issues you may already be facing. It is also important to make an appointment with your dentist for a check-up. Keeping your teeth in tip top shape before and after pregnancy is very important. Remember to eat a healthy diet. Your baby’s primary source of nutrients will be from you, so remember to start eating healthy before you conceive.

Remember to tell your physician of any supplements you are currently taking. Chances are your OB will prescribe you a prenatal vitamin at your first OB visit. Stop drinking alcoholic beverages, smoking and begin to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Do not lounge in hot tubs, hot bathes or hot showers when you are trying to conceive and make sure you maintain a regular exercise routine and stay healthy. Use the proper precautions when cleaning the kitchen sink or doing laundry, where a face mask when necessary so you do not breathe in harmful chemicals.

Prevention for Ectopic Pregnancy

Ectopic means “out of place.” In an ectopic pregnancy, a fertilized egg has implanted outside the uterus. The egg settles in the fallopian tubes in more than 95% of ectopic pregnancies. This is why ectopic pregnancies are commonly called “tubal pregnancies.” The egg can also implant in the ovary, abdomen, or the cervix, so you may see these referred to as cervical or abdominal pregnancies.

An ectopic pregnancy is a complication of pregnancy in which the fertilized ovum is implanted in any tissue other than the uterine wall. Most ectopic pregnancies occur in the Fallopian tube (so-called tubal pregnancies), but implantation can also occur in the cervix, ovaries, and abdomen. The fetus produces enzymes that allow it to implant in varied types of tissues, and thus an embryo implanted elsewhere than the uterus can cause great tissue damage in its efforts to reach a sufficient supply of blood.

The most serious complication of an ectopic pregnancy is intra-abdominal hemorrhage (severe bleeding). In the case of a tubal pregnancy, for example, as the products of conception continue to grow in the fallopian tube, the tube expands and eventually ruptures. This can be very dangerous because a large artery runs on the outside of each fallopian tube. If the artery ruptures, you can bleed severely.

Prevention for Ectopic Pregnancy

You can’t prevent an ectopic pregnancy, but you can decrease certain risk factors. For example, limit your number of sexual partners and use a condom when you have sex to help prevent sexually transmitted diseases and reduce the risk of pelvic inflammatory disease.

Avoid gonorrhea, chlamydia, and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) by using a diaphragm or cervical cap or insisting that your sexual partner wear a condom (rubber).

Surgery of the reproductive system, bowels, or lower abdomen can lead to scarring, which increases your risk of ectopic pregnancy.

PID can damage your fallopian tubes, increasing the risk of ectopic pregnancy. One of the main causes of PID is sexually transmitted infections (STIs), such as chlamydia and gonorrhoea. The male condom is the most effective method of preventing STIs.

Using safe sex practices, such as using a condom every time you have sex, lowers your risk of ectopic pregnancy. This is because safe sex helps protect you from sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) that can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). PID is a common cause of scar tissue in the fallopian tubes, which can cause ectopic pregnancy.

If you are at risk for having an ectopic pregnancy and you think you may be pregnant, use a home pregnancy test. If it is positive, be sure to have a confirmation test done by a health professional, especially if you are concerned about developing an ectopic pregnancy.

You will likely need surgery to remove the abnormal pregnancy. In the past, this was a major operation, requiring a large incision across the pelvic area. This might still be necessary in cases of emergency or extensive internal injury.

As long as you have one healthy fallopian tube, salpingostomy (small tubal slit) and salpingectomy (part of a tube removed) have about the same effect on your future fertility. But if your other tube is damaged, your doctor may try to do a salpingostomy. This may improve your chances of getting pregnant in the future.

Ectopic pregnancy does not occur in normal tubes, so prevention is based on avoiding the cause of damaged tubes. This includes avoiding promiscuity and activities that predispose to pelvic inflammatory disease and the early diagnosis and treatment of appendicitis.

Parenting and Pregnancy

Pregnancy and Parenting Relationships:

In this generation, most couples don’t make it and some do. They make it where it’s a solid relationship with a certain type of bond between the parents.
First of all, it takes a lot to be a parent.

But know that: Not everyone are fit to be parents and some are designed to be parents naturally where they just want to adopt a lot of children in order to bring them joy in their lives.
Although, there are some who may never conceive and leaving them in a state of depression.
Do you know how difficult it is to create a life?

However, when you do get a chance to create , you should really cherish that to the fullest.

Although, having a baby is a beautiful thing and should bring you joy and when women have babies, some choose to breast feed when feeding their baby because it is said that breast feeding lowers your baby’s risk of infections in the near future as they grow.

With parenting: You’ll need to have patience when dealing with children and make sure that you don’t lose your temper because if you think about t, no one asks to really be here on this earth but if you conceive and have a baby and when your baby grow up, you should treat them like gold because children are innocent and are like sponges, so they basically absorb everything that goes on and always remember kids don’t forget anything so you as the parent should watch what you say around children because they pick up everything you do and say.

However, parents should always be involved in their children’s lives including school and make sure that they know where they are at all times no matter what.
Parenting is great, depending on the parent because life is what you make it.
Some parents say that their kids drive them crazy and need a time out to themselves and if you allow your own children to drive you crazy then you will just snap.

With pregnancy: Pregnancy is a beautiful thing. However, when women are pregnant, they have a certain glow to them where they look extremely beautiful and happy.

With parenting: When disciplining your child, discipline is a great thing because the way you raise your children reflects on you.
Although, you should teach your kids to balance out this way. There are parents who let their children walk all over them by not disciplining them and one parent has told me in order to raise good children, you must make their lives hell so they can grow up to be a strong individual. When there’s no discipline and rules made by you as the parent, the child will start acting up as if they have no morals.

When punishing your child: Hitting is not necessary to do all the time but there are no reasons whatsoever why you should hit your children all the time.

But all you have to do is teach your children from right and wrong and if your child is old enough to have an understanding of what’s going on then you can basically sit them down and communicate and teach them form right and wrong. Some parents tend to yell all the time which makes their children run wild even more, but if you take the time and be patient with your children and say things in a way that they can comprehend, then trust to know they will listen to you without a doubt instead of trying to verbally destroy them.

Some say, they love kids because kids are fun and might remind you of yourself and keeps you on your toes and it’s a beautiful blessing all around and a joy to have.

However, when people don’t have children of their own normally don’t have patience whatsoever and just abuse their children to a point where that child is old enough to run away or the child will die because of all the abuse.

On the subject of pregnancy again: Some women hate to be pregnant and some love it and some hate the idea that they might just gain weight because of he fear that they will get fat and never lose the weight or feel that they may never be beautiful again.
I have this friend who is always pushing the issue of children on me and I usually respond by saying “Whatever” because I’m just not ready but if by chance that I ever get pregnant then “It is, what it is!”

What I’m trying to say is that you have to be completely ready mentally as well as financially when it comes to having children because know that: Life is getting to be too expensive and your kids didn’t ask to be here so you shouldn’t make their lives miserable because you’re not ready.
So yes, you have to be fully sure if that’s what you want and need in your life.

When it comes to parenting: Will you be ready to take care of another life!
