Liposuction Techniques Introduced

A little knowledge about liposuction is what you need to start your research before making any surgery decisions.

Suction lipectomy, lipoplasty or liposculpture are different names for liposuction.

A hollow wand (cannula) is attached to a suction device and is used to remove fatty tissue from beneath the skin during the procedure.

How about an overnight six pack? How about the shape that you always wanted? Well, that’s the wonders of liposuction. It helps you to remove the fat from the body and acquire a beautiful figure. This procedure can remove body fats from most areas like chin, arms, abdomen, thighs, hips and the stubborn “love handles” around the mid-section.

Liposuction is a cosmetic surgical procedure to remove excess amount of fat from the body parts (like thighs, chin, breasts and stomach) that do not respond to exercises and diet plans. You should remember that this procedure is not an alternative to a rigorous work out and exercise regime. Not all of the fat cells are removed during the process, so if you gain a significant amount of weight post-surgery, the treated areas will get larger again.

There are different ways to suck out that extra fat: wet, super-wet, ultrasonic, and tumescent.

In traditional liposuction (wet technique), fluid is injected into the space between the muscle and fat to separate them. This technique involves the injection of three fluids - saline (to assist in the suction process), lidocaine (as anesthetic) and epinephrine (to prevent bleeding). The amount of fluid injected is less than the amount of fluid in the superwet technique.

The kind of liposuction that is similar to the wet technique is called the “Super-Wet” technique. In this technique, the amount of fluid inserted is less than that of the tumescent technique. Less liquid injected is an advantage to the patient because it requires less time for the swelling to go down.

The tumescent kind is also known as a standard liposuction technique (wet technique) wherein the fat is infiltrated with tumescent fluid (such as saline, epinephrine, lidocaine). In this case, the amount of fluid injected is 3 to 4 times the volume of the super-wet liposuction. After the fat is filled up with fluid, the fat is pulled out with tiny rods or by making small incisions.

Ultrasonic liposuction starts with injecting the medical fluid, then the fat is liquefied by high-frequency ultrasonic energy, emitted from a thin rod. The fat is removed by using the rod as a tiny pipette. Ultrasound methods are not very well studied and have been discontinued by most practitioners.

One more method worth mentioning is the superficial syringe liposuction is performed on the layer of fat just underneath the skin. In this method, a syringe is used to withdraw fat instead of vacuum suctioning pumps that thereby result in less blood loss and faster post-operative recovery.

Before opting for a beauty enhancing and body contouring technique, it is very crucial to reconsider and conduct a careful research on the experience of your lipoplasty surgeon.

Spine Force Machine for Herniated Discs

The Spine Force machine is the only device capable of stimulating the deep muscles of the spine.

A groundbreaking device called the Spine Force has the potential to transform how we care for the muscles and structures in the lower back. LPG
Systems is a France based company that has developed this machine to stimulate the deep connective tissue within the spine that can break down with sedentary lifestyle habits. With the advent of the Spine Force, health practitioners who specialize in treating spinal diseases and disorders may now have a resource to ensure that patients don’t have recurring spinal problems.

“What this machine can do is strengthen and rebuild up to 180 muscles at one time. Most structures that get damaged the cause is due to lack of activity, obesity, and a sedentary lifestyle. What this machine can do is, without a lot of participation on the patient’s part, help to get into the deep core muscles of the spine, separate the structures, and actually rehydrate some of the ligaments and muscles. And get some blood supply back into the disc.”

Lately, the term “core strength training” has been commonly found among health clubs and therapy centers. The core muscles of the spine are used for balance and stability in both dynamic and stationary motion. Strengthening these muscles can offset postural problems, prevent spinal injuries, and reinforce healthy activity. This focus on treating entire muscle groups instead of isolated areas can benefit people who are looking to strengthen their body and improve their health in a balanced way.
