Prepare to Lose Weight
One of the main reasons why people often resist beginning a weight loss or exercise program is the lack of time in their lives. However many times there is just a perception of lack of time.
In the society that we live in today time can often be a rarity due to work and family commitments. The thing you must focus on is that you are not taking up some sort of hobby that is going to intrude on your time. We are talking about your health, and let’s face it, without your health you will not be able to live a full life.
When asked, many people will say that their main priorities consist of their families, their work, and financial stability. However ill health will result in your life being restricted in many ways, it will affect your ability to work, restrict quality time with your family, and impose potential financial burdens. So your number one priority always should be your health.
The one thing that you have in common with the wealthiest and most successful people in the world is that you are allocated twenty four hours in the day, which is the same as every other person on the planet. No amount of money is ever going to let you or anyone else buy an extra second over the twenty four hours that is allocated.
Time is one of your most valued possessions and once gone, even a minute of that time can never be replaced. Ask anybody who is terminally ill or coming towards the end of their life, if they had a wish what would they wish for. It’s a guarantee that they won’t wish for more money, a beautiful house, or an expensive car. The one wish they will have will be for more time.
The thing you need to do is to ask yourself with complete honesty if your time is being spent wisely. Think of what benefits you are getting the way that you are spending your time. If you find that you are not getting benefits out of how you spend your time, then you will need to do something about it. Time is far too valuable a commodity to be wasted as it can never be replaced.
Many people fall under the impression that they have to dedicate lots of time for exercise and getting fit. This simply isn’t the case. 30-45 minutes a day is going to be ample for your needs. Before you say you can’t find that time in a day, think carefully about your daily activities and you will find that you can probably easily squeeze out the time that you need for exercise if you really want to.
One of the biggest activities that eat away at your time with virtually no benefit for you personally is television. You come home from work and after doing what needs to be done, you will slump down in front of your television for a few hours before going to bed. Remember while you sit there you are not getting any health benefits, and you are not burning calories. Instead you are just storing them on top of the ones you have already have stored.
Now people may say that they find television entertaining and that it helps them to unwind. You can be entertained and relaxed by your television after you have exercised, or even exercise while you have the television on. The people on television get paid lots of money because you sit around watching them perform, what do you get? You store up calories which are then converted to fat. Your precious time gets eaten up, and you certainly don’t get paid lots of money for watching. Read the rest of this entry »
