A Closer Look at Breast Implants

The rise in the popularity of voluptuous bodies and extremely big breasts in Hollywood has made the breast augmentation industry boom in just a couple of decades. Before, only women who were aspiring to become television and movie celebrities took the risks of getting breast implants; nowadays, almost every member of the female population, regardless of age and ethnicity, wishes to enhance her breasts.

If you are one of the those who want to supersize their boobs, then you need to have a deeper understanding of what you are getting yourself into, which can include breast implant dangers.

In a breast augmentation operation, the doctor inserts an implant, which is made either from silicone or saline, inside your breasts. A lot of women choose silicone rather than saline implants because the former feels and looks more natural. Although the saline ones are cheaper, it is no longer popular because of its high risk of bursting; nobody would want to wake up with one deflated breast. Here are some other problems you might encounter when having breast augmentation:

Finding A Reputable Cosmetic Surgeon

At present, almost 190,000 of the estimated 1.5 million women who had undergone surgical breast augmentation have had complaints about the procedures. Moreover, there have also been 123 reported deaths linked to this procedure. Many of the casualties actually came as a result of getting breast surgery from individuals who are not licensed to do so. Since getting breast enhancement in top clinics can be very expensive, many women are attracted to clinics that offer very cheap services. Unfortunately, the facilities that offer dirt-cheap prices for such a dangerous operation are usually run by unscrupulous individuals, so you should be very cautious.

Health Complications

Since this is a surgical procedure, there is always a risk of infection and other potentially lethal complications, such as the Toxic Shock Syndrome, a type of bacterial infection you can get from wounds and surgical procedures.

Many women with breast implants also complain about misshapen or misplaced breasts. If you have saline implants, there is a high probability of bursting, so you will end up with uneven breasts. Sometimes, you don’t just need one operation to make your boobs look perky and at the right position; many women have to undergo several procedures just to keep their breasts in place.

Furthermore, silicone or saline breast implants usually interfere with mammogram results; this procedure is one of the most effective ways to check if you have cysts or tumors in your breasts. Thus, people with implants do not only have to pay more for a mammogram, but also must accept the fact that the results of the test may not be accurate and reliable.

Lastly, some say that breast implants can cause certain types of cancer. Although there is really no definitive link between implants and cancers, it is still not advisable to downplay the risks.

Difficulty in Getting Health Insurance

The cost of medical procedures and visits to the doctor is steadily increasing. Thus, it is really wise to get a good medical insurance coverage. However, if you have breast implants, there is a big possibility that insurance companies will decline to give you coverage. If ever you get a medical insurance, it would probably not include breast-related check ups and procedures.

Before deciding to get a surgically implanted breasts, you should think thoroughly about the idea because there are a lot of complications that you have to face. Furthermore, there are many ways in which you can enhance your boobs even without surgery. For fuller and bigger breasts, you can always rely on padding and undergarments with underwire and other maximizing devices. You can also opt to take breast enhancement supplements, such as Clevastin. If you want to know more about this breast-augmentation product, click on http://www.clevastin.com/.

Natural Dandruff Treatments You Can Use At Home

OK, so you’ve read up on the internet about all the nasty ingredients that get put into regular off the shelf dandruff shampoos and you’d rather try something that treats your hair with respect. So what is the best dandruff treatment at home?

1. Apple Cider Vinegar Dandruff Cure

This is one of the natural cures that has been around for centuries, so it’s stood the test of time and been proven over all these years. Apple cider vinegar works by killing off the fungus that cause all those nasty white flakes that break out on your scalp.

Use this in conjunction with a regular shampoo - any gentle, PH balanced shampoo will be fine. Ideally the more natural this shampoo is, the better.

Mix together two parts of apple cider vinegar to one part warm water. If you don’t like the cidery smell, add a few drops of essential oils to mask the vinegar smell.

Do this mixing first, then once you’ve shampooed, pour it over your hair. Or, if you prefer more control over the application, put it in a sprayer bottle and spray it on your hair. Massage the mixture into your scalp. Leave it to dry. There’s no need to rinse it out. Indeed, the remedy will likely be more effective if you don’t rinse but if the smell bugs you too much then feel free to rinse it out after an hour or so.

2. Fenugreek Seeds

This one needs a bit more advance preparation but nothing too complicated - just mainly time. Soak a few tablespoons of fenugreek seeds overnight in a bowl of water. Next day, grind the seeds into a paste - a regular food blender works fine for this. Once you’ve got your paste, massage it into your scalp and leave it there for about an hour before rinsing the mixture out.

3. Teatree Oil

You’ve probably seen this as an ingredient in various shampoos but you can also buy the oil separately. Teatree oil is a natural form of antiseptic, which is why it works for this treatment. Pour off some of your regular shampoo and add a few tablespoons of teatree oil into the bottle in the space you’ve just created. Then mix well before applying your shampoo as normal. You’ll need to remember to shake your shampoo bottle before each use if the oil doesn’t fully mix. Experiment with different brands if necessary and use a clear bottle to remind you to do this.

4. De-stress your life

Dandruff can often be our body’s way of telling us that there is too much stress in our life. Find ways to cut down the amount of stress you’re exposed to. You can do this by taking up a relaxation method such as yoga or meditation. Or it could even be as simple as changing your routine slightly so that your drive to work isn’t a nose to tail traffic jam. You’ll likely know what stresses you out in your life. Taking steps to reduce this stress will help you in more ways than just your dandruff infested hair.

What Breast Implants Do To Help Not-Quite Perfect Breasts

Even though the Barbie doll image of a large and perky chest does not weigh as heavily in the public mind anymore, women from all around the globe still love to have them.

The current trend is for a more athletic and proportioned figure, which still has plastic surgeons busy, but more women are choosing a more natural-looking figure.

“A friend of mine, after nursing two children, basically had no breasts left. There was only sagging skin. She opted for saline, went for a full B and absolutely loves it. For her, the risks and discomfort were worth the reward and, as far as I know, she has had no regrets. She also loves the fact that she can get away with wearing no bra in the summer with tank tops or evening formal wear.” Beate F., 48, Atlanta, GA.

Breast implants can, however, potentially interfere with mammograms, self examinations, and nursing, so you need to be sure you are educated on how these health issues will affect you. Special instructions are available for mammograms and self exams with implants. Also, if you think you may breast feed in the future, certain surgical precautions can be taken with implantation.

Another risk involved is that this may not be a one-time surgical procedure, and the effects are not guaranteed for the rest of your lifetime. Breast implants invariably leak, and you will need to have replacements. Or you may decide you no longer want to be a buxom D … you would really like to be a curvy C.

There are many reasons why natural breasts may not be as perfect as their owner would like them to be … asymmetry, sagging due to weight loss or breast feeding, or simple having small breasts due to heredity. Often, women opt for a breast lift along with the implant.

You have two choices for the type of material:
* silicone
* saline

Both types have a silicone rubber “shell,” but as their name indicates, one is filled with silicone, while the other is filled with a saline solution.

Saline is water with a high concentration of salt, which can be made to match the human body.

took silicone breast implants off the market, citing concerns over their safety, including how often they ruptured in a woman’s body and whether leaking silicone could lead to diseases as some women claimed.

Silicone was temporarily taken off the market by the FDA in the 90s because of concerns over their safety. At the time the concerns were how often they ruptured and whether leaking could lead to diseases as some women claimed.

However, an improved version was reintroduced and approved in 2006 amid much media coverage and excitement by women across the United States.

According to FDA studies, side effects are still common with both types in the first few years. They include, but are not restricted to:
* pains
* nipple numbness
* secondary surgeries required
* possible interference with nursing
* toxic shock syndrome

You want to enjoy your new figure and the self-confidence boost, so be sure to thoroughly research your surgeon, the types of implants available, and the contour and texture of implants. Make sure, your plastic surgeon is board certified.

The ultimate goal is for your body to be safe and healthy, and for you to enjoy your new figure. Transformation after surgery is amazing; plastic surgeons report that a fuller chest usually means bigger smiles and greater self esteem in their patients.
